A Love Song is Always Meant to be Heard

A Love Song is Always Meant to be Heard

I wrote you a love song but was too shy to sing it
I kept it in me, waiting for the perfect moment
But that moment never came
And too soon you flew away
So I’m singing you that love song today

Yeah, I ‘m singing you the love song that you never got to hear
The words I should have said out loud to you, but didn’t dare
I regret my silence but it’s one more lesson learned
A love song is always meant to be heard

I’d sing your song each night as I lie awake dreaming
I’d close my eyes and see your smile as I was sleeping
How I miss that smile from you
I missed my chance to sing the truth
So a love song too late will have to do

Yeah I ‘m singing you the love song that you never got to hear
The words I should have said out loud to you, but didn’t dare
I regret my silence but it’s one more lesson learned
A love song is always meant to be heard

Can you hear me somewhere up in heaven?
Do angels get the chance to hear the songs we sing on earth?
For one young girl, you made a world of difference
And though I loved you from a distance
Please know I mean every word

I woke up this morning and it started raining
I thought of you and so I started singing
I sang your song loud and clear
And pretended you were here
And somehow in spirit, I know you were

So I’m singing you the love song that you never got to hear
The words I should have said out loud to you, but didn’t dare
I regret my silence but it’s one more lesson learned
A love song is always meant to be heard

A love song is always meant to be heard

I wrote you a love song but was too shy to sing it
