Winter Lullaby

Winter Lullaby

Dedicated to our Johnson ancestors from Sweden: who probably spent many dark winter nights consoling a worried child by showing them how to appreciate their native land, & by finding a cozy spot to enjoy being together. —Amy, Cecelia & Natalie

Come sit by the fire and I’ll sing you to sleep
With a winter lullaby.
The night is cold and the drifts are deep,
I am here now close your eyes.
The north wind howls in the icy storm,
But here in my arms you’re safe and warm.
Hear my winter lullaby.

Don’t be afraid of the wind and the waves.
It’s a winter lullaby.
The fjord echoes on their December song,
And the silver forest sighs.
Up in the sky, the northern lights
Dance with the moon and stars so bright
To our winter lullaby.

Ooooooo (round)
Ooooooo

The north wind howls in the icy storm,
But here in my arms you’re safe and warm.
Hear my winter lullaby.
