Good Deed Doer

This song is a “remake” of a song we grew up with, written by our mother Cecelia Benson. Often the message taught through a song stays around even longer than a lecture. And the message given through your example stays around a lot longer than that. Never miss a chance to “Pay it Forward” and find small ways to bless the lives of others . . . your kids are watching. And remember to praise kids for being a “Good Deed Doer” every chance you get.

Good Deed Doer
2008 Cecelia Benson, Alison Moulton, Amy Lacey

(ooh...ooh...ooh)
I saw him standing there
A sad look in his eye
The kids raced to the playground
But each one passed him by
He was just the new kid here
But then I saw his face
My momma's words raced through my mind
It was like I heard her sayin'

Be a good deed doer and do it every day
One kind deed will go so far to make this world a better place
Be a good deed doer and you may be surprised
Doing good to others makes you feel so good inside

(ooh...ooh...ooh...)
Slowly I walked up to him
I said ,”What's your name?”
His eyes began to sparkle,
A smile crossed his face
Now he's not a stranger here
Now he is my friend
My life has been better
All because my momma said

Be a good deed doer and do it every day
One kind deed will go so far to make this world a better place
Be a good deed doer and you may be surprised
Doing good to others makes you feel so good inside

(repeat chorus)
