Wings to Fly

All parents have had moments of wondering, “How can I do this?” We all want to do a good job as parents, but the task of raising good, responsible, confident children at times seems far beyond our own abilities. We can do our very best to give them Hope, Strength, and Truth to prepare them to succeed in the world. Then comes the hardest part--letting go and allowing them to fly. But even thought they will, and even though they must, we can make sure that home is always a safe place to land.

Wings to Fly
2008 Alison and Paul Moulton

Sometimes I watch you playing
Not a care in the world
And dreams so big they fill the summer sky
How do I give you all you need
To make it in this world
To keep you safe
But let you learn to FLY?

I'll give you Hope
So you can follow dreams that are your own
I'll give you Strength
For times when you must stand up all alone
I'll teach you Truth
So when I'm not there you still know what's right
I'll give you Wings
God sends the Breeze
And you'll learn to FLY

I wish I could protect you
When the world is not kind
To shield you from beneath and from above
Although you'll have your troubles
And you will cry your tears
Child, you will never doubt
That you are loved!

I'll give you Hope
So you can follow dreams that are your own
I'll give you Strength
For times when you must stand up all alone
I'll teach you Truth
So when I'm not there you still know what's right
I'll give you Wings
God sends the Breeze
And you'll learn to FLY

I'm amazed at your strength
How you grow each day
I can't wait to see all you'll become…
But for now, I'll just watch you play

I'll give you Hope
So you can follow dreams that are your own
I'll give you Strength
For times when you must stand up all alone
I'll teach you Truth
So when I'm not there you still know what's right
I'll give you Wings
God sends the Breeze
And you'll learn to FLY

I'll give you Wings
God sends the Breeze
And you'll learn to FLY
